Meet The Director

Phil's Wedding

Having two skit characters deliver your wedding rings might seem a bit out of the ordinary, but it was only a mild shock to the T bar M Day Camp Director, Phil Rich. This was proof that we definitely live by “Don’t Waste Fun”, both in and out of the T bar M gates.

Phil first came to T bar M as he was approaching the end of his college education at Texas A&M University. Attending a mission trip to Panama through T bar M mission adventures was Phil’s first look at T bar M. Directly after graduating from college, Phil worked the summer at Sports Camp, only then to start on our discipleship program, the Timothy Team. It was here that his desire for camping ministry grew into a calling and passion. During Summer 2005, Phil had his first exposure to Day Camp, as he took on the role of leadership for the Day Camp program.

Leaving for a short while, Phil began work as the Youth Pastor of New Braunfels Bible Church in August 2005, working with the high school students of the church. Come summer 2006, Phil couldn’t get enough, returning as the Day Camp assistant director. Shortly after, Phil started as the full-time Day Camp Director.

And who says camp relationships can’t work? Phil met his wife, Jean Marie, at T bar M in the summer of 2004. After a shared mission trip, as well as completing the Timothy Team program the year after Phil, the two tied the knot in December of 2006. It has been an amazing adventure and Phil can’t help but hold on for the journey God is laying before him. With his hope fixed on the Lord and his faithful encourager and supporter by his side, Phil surely feels blessed as he serves and grows through T bar M camps. You might even say he’s F.U.A.G.N.E.M.!!!
